All Bird Rescue Foster Network offers a unique approach to bird rescue, rehabilitation, placement or release and care. We believe it is not in the best interest of pet or wild birds to be warehoused with 1000’s of other birds in one central location. Our rescuers offer individual attention to all birds that for various reasons find rescue a necessary option. All birds are accepted. Our foster network is a list of worldwide bird-loving volunteers that have a special love, interest and knowledge in particular species of birds. The column on the right lists our volunteers and the species of bird they accept to place in permanent homes, or for wild birds, they will be rehabilitated then released back into the wild. I
HAVE A BIRD:
Click on the yellow button to the right which corresponds with the
species of bird you have. If you are unsure as to the exact
species, just contact one of the closest species you find in the category.
Rescuers will take your particular sub-species of bird and care for it,
find it a new home, add it to there own flock, or if wild - release it
after it fully recovers. I
WANT A PET BIRD:
Click on the yellow button to the right which corresponds with the
species of bird you wish to adopt. Rescuers will collect your information to find out what bird best fits your
needs. Your name will be placed on a waiting list to adopt a bird,
or the rescuer may have birds available. Adoption fees cover the
costs of medical care, food and other expenses (if any) that the
particular bird incurred during its stay in the foster home. I
WANT TO BECOME A FOSTER HOME:
For
the fee of $1 for a four (4) year commitment (25 cents per year), per sub-species you are
listed as available to accept rescue birds. Five (5) sub-species
maximum per home. We like our foster homes to have an expertise in
the few birds they accept. You may adopt the birds out to new homes and
charge a fee for the care and maintenance of a bird. You may NOT sell
the birds that you foster for profit.
Keeping the birds you rescue is also an acceptable option.
All you need to do is mail us a letter with your name, address,
phone number, email address, a list of subspecies you would like to
foster and the state / city in which you wish to accept birds. Include $1
in US funds for each listing (type of bird) you are willing to accept.
